Metal Roof Replacement

Metal Can Fit Any Aesthetic

When clients asks us "What is the best roof?", We advise them to choose repair metal roofs! Metal roofs last 50+ years with little maintenance, compared to shingle or tile roofs. Doesn’t matter what roofing style, color or finish you have on your home now—it can all be aesthetically matched using metal. Today's metal roofing can be made to look just like asphalt shingles, clay tiles, cedar shake or slate roofing.

Metal lasts two to three times longer than other roofing materials. While the initial cost may be slightly higher, you'll save money in the long run. Of all the roofs we repair, metal roofs require the least attention. When someone asks us for a recommendation, we always say metal! Metal roofs will last 50 years plus with little maintenance as compared to Shingle or Tile roofs.

Long-Lasting Durability

The average life of a non-metal roof is 17 years. For metal, it can be 50+ years with regular maintenance. Asphalt can require re-roofing every 10 to 20 years (in many instances much sooner). Metal roofing systems offer unmatched durability. Odds are in your favor that a metal roof will be the last roof you ever install on your home. If you can afford it, metal roofing is a long-term investment that could be the perfect option for you.

Tile Roof Replacement

Tile roofs resist hurricanes, earthquakes and weather extremes better than most other materials. Concrete and clay roof tiles are especially resistant to fire, hail and moisture.

They act as insulators, reducing energy costs by keeping homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Because tile is inherently durable, tile roofs can last much longer than shingle roofs.

Tile Roof

Naturally Energy-Efficient

Concrete and clay tiles account for the largest share in roofing sales worldwide and are utilized on more homes than any other type of roof. Roofing tiles are the only materials currently in use that possess two inherent qualities necessary for energy reduction:

• The natural thermal resistance in the raw materials themselves
• The natural ventilation created in the airspace around the tiles

These elements work together to create an effective heat barrier. Federal tax credits may be available to you for using concrete and clay roofing tiles. They can also add significant resale value to your home.

Shingle Roof Replacement

Although homeowners may select the type of roofing they desire for their home, they typically leave the brand up to the roofer, and that may not be in your best interest. Even experienced roofers judge the quality of the various shingle brands by two seemingly sensible (but not always reliable) criteria: weight and warranty.

Flat Roof Replacement

TPO & Modified Bitumen Roofing for flat roofs

Storm Roofing & Repair offers flat roofing options to commercial and residential customers throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. The type of flat roofing we install is somewhat arbitrary and up to you in most instances. However, there are a few options that could be better suited to certain seasons, climates or budgets. There are three basic types of flat roofing:

Tpo Roof

TPO

Thermoplastic Polyolefin is a single-ply roofing membrane that lasts 5+ years longer than other flat roof materials. TPO is replacing modified bitumen in residential flat roofs because of its longer life. It is one of the fastest growing commercial roof applications. TPO systems are made up of a single layer of synthetics and reinforcing scrim that can be used to cover flat roofs.

TPO membranes are manufactured in sheets that are 10, 12 or 20 feet wide and 50 to 100 feet long. Modified bitumen materials are 3 feet wide and 33 feet long, so TPO roofs offer less seams that can leak. TPO is bright white and has gained industry acceptance with its natural reflective surface to reflect UV rays (as reported by the National Roofing Contractors Association [NRCA]).

Modified Bitumen

Modified Bitumen

This type of flat roof involves taking a roll of single-ply roofing material that has been integrated with a mineral-based shield and attaching it to the roof surface in a peel and stick application. Modified Bitumen is commonly used for residential and commercial flat roofs where size, cost, aesthetics and UV protection are not as important.

There are two options for the material used:

• The traditional torch-down adhesive that must be heated by a torch to adhere to the roof substrate
• The newer Peel-and-Stick flat roofing material that requires no torch and is much easier to apply
